THE PREPS : Murray, 4 County Players Top All-Stars

Forward Tracy Murray of Glendora High School, the state player of the year, heads the list of final selections for a prep all-star team that will meet the Soviet Union’s junior national team May 14 in UC Irvine’s Bren Center.
Murray, who set state single-season and career scoring records, was among 13 players selected by Coach Bob Gottlieb.
Four Orange County players were selected, including Marina sophomore center Cherokee Parks, the only underclassman on the team. Other county players are Ocean View guard Mike Frohn, Mater Dei guard Dylan Rigdon and Trabuco Hills center Rick Swanwick.
The team features three players--Mitchell Butler of Oakwood, Zan Mason of Westchester and Murray--who will attend UCLA in the fall.
Among the players cut from the original roster of 17 players included center Todd Norman of Ocean View, center Malru Dottin of Saddleback and forward Scott Campbell of La Quinta. Guard Bill Mazurie of Capistrano Valley was named as an alternate.
The teams will meet on May 13 at the San Diego Sports Arena before moving to the Bren Center. The squad:

Alternates: Brian Camper (Lakewood), 6-4, G; Bill Mazurie (Capistrano Valley), 6-0, G, and DeDan Thomas (Taft), 5-11.
