Simi Valley police on Friday asked the public for help in identifying a slain woman whose body was found by a hiker at the side of a road in an undeveloped area of Simi Valley.
The woman was Caucasian and appeared to be between 35 and 40 years old, Lt. Don Austin said. She had facial and head injuries, he said, but a cause of death will not be determined until after an autopsy scheduled for this morning.
Her body was discovered Friday morning at the north end of Kuehner Drive, just north of the Simi Valley Freeway, Austin said. It was not known how long she had been dead.
She was described as 5-foot-6 inches tall, weighing 125 pounds with brown, shoulder-length hair and hazel eyes, Austin said. She was wearing a blue-and-white, flower-patterned blouse with a white sweater vest, blue jeans and red shoes, he said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Simi Valley police at (805) 583-6950.
