A Garden Grove woman was injured Monday when she was bounced onto the Garden Grove Freeway from the bed of a pickup truck, the California Highway Patrol said.
Gail Penner, 26, was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange with cuts and chest pains after the 4:30 p.m. mishap on the westbound freeway near the Glassell Street crossing in Orange. Penner was reported in stable condition Monday night after being admitted for observation, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Penner had been trying to hold down a mattress and box spring in the pickup bed, the CHP said. The driver of the truck was Joseph Delpozzo, 25, of Westminster.
