A 28-year-old man was shot to death as he waited for friends outside a North Hollywood convenience store, Los Angeles police reported Sunday.
Octaviano Robles Hernandez was shot about 11:45 p.m. Saturday as he sat in the back seat of a car in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store at Vanowen Street and Laurel Canyon Boulevard, Lt. Stuart Maislin said. He said there was no apparent reason for the shooting.
Hernandez died after being taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills. His attackers, whom witnesses described as two or three males ages 17 to 20, fled in a brown station wagon, Maislin said. They were accompanied by a teen-age girl, he said.
