NATION : U.S. Officer Shoots Panamanian

WASHINGTON — In the second U.S.-Panama shooting in two days, a U.S. Army officer shot a Panamanian military transit policeman today when the Panamanian pulled a gun on him, a defense official said.
It was not known how badly the member of the Panamanian Defense Forces was hurt, the U.S. defense official said, because the man “went down but he got up and left the scene. He ain’t dead.”
“It was believed he had injuries in the leg and arm,” the official said.
