ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Iran Barkley suffered a torn retina in his left eye and has withdrawn from a World Boxing Organization middleweight title fight Jan. 15 against Doug DeWitt, promoter Bob Arum said.
The fight was scheduled as the undercard to the George Foreman-Gerry Cooney fight.
Possible replacements include Dennis Milton and Matthew Hilton, who fought to a 10-round draw against Fermin Chirino Tuesday night at Caesars Hotel Casino. Hilton formerly held the International Boxing Federation Junior Middleweight title.
