Why Not Split SOS?
The article (March 20) on approval of a new site for Share Our Selves (SOS) indicated that the opponents’ complaint is that SOS has grown too large for any residential or even commercial neighborhood.
The solution is disarmingly simple. Divide SOS into three, five, 10 or more operating units located all around the town. That way desperate people will not have to go so far to receive the aid that SOS dispenses; the lines of people waiting to receive aid won’t be so long; traffic and the environment won’t suffer so much disruption. And the opponents will be happy because each operating unit will not be too large--unless, of course, that’s not the real reason for their opposition!
