Coach Al Luginbill ran the San Diego State football team through its first workout of the spring Monday and was pleased.
“The kids are in good physical shape, and it showed today,” he said. “We are a lot quicker, stronger and more experienced than last year.”
Three players were missing, just one unexpectedly. Redshirt freshman running back Kip Jeffries came down with the flu and was excused. Also missing were offensive linemen Nick Subis (broken foot) and Kevin Macon (toe sprain).
