Kermit Davis Jr., who led Idaho into the NCAA basketball tournament, has been offered the Texas A&M; coaching job, a Houston television station reported.
“We have decided on who we would like to be our new head coach,” Texas A&M; Athletic Director John David Crow said. “We’re just not ready to name him yet. I need to notify some people of some things.”
KRIV-TV, quoting sources, said Crow had contacted Davis, 31, by telephone at his in-law’s home in Helena, Ark., and offered him the job.
Idaho had a 25-6 record this season, losing to Louisville in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
