California IN BRIEF : SANTA ROSA : Salcido Says He Is Now ‘Remorseful’
- Share via
Multiple-murder suspect Ramon Salcido said from his Santa Rosa jail cell that he is “remorseful” and that “I love very much” the family members he is accused of killing a year ago. “I consider myself a human being, and I’m very hurt in my heart that this tragedy happened to my family and his (father-in-law’s) family,” Salcido said in a telephone interview with KRON-TV in San Francisco. Salcido, 29, a winery worker, faces trial July 9 in Redwood City on charges of going on a shooting-and-slashing rampage in April, 1989, that killed his wife, two of his three daughters, his mother-in-law and her two daughters, and his winery boss. He was arrested in his native Mexico and returned to face charges.
