Ban Sought on Some Minolta Cameras: Honeywell Inc. has asked the government to ban imports of automatic focus cameras made by Minolta Camera Co. of Japan on the grounds that they infringe on four Honeywell patents. A lawsuit Honeywell filed in 1987 against Minolta is still about two years from trial. In hopes of getting relief quicker, the Minneapolis-based Honeywell asked the International Trade Commission to act under a 1988 amendment to the Tariff Act of 1930 that makes it illegal for overseas firms to engage in unfair methods of competition.
