SEATTLE — Mariner owner Jeff Smulyan likes to be different when it comes to Seattle Mariner promotions. When he scheduled “Guaranteed No-Hitter Night” in the Kingdome for Saturday, he got lucky as well.
Pitching for the visiting Texas Rangers that night will be Nolan Ryan, who threw a record sixth career no-hitter Monday night in Oakland.
If neither the 43-year-old Ryan nor Seattle starter Matt Young (1-7) pitches a no-hitter, fans attending the game can use their ticket stubs for a $4.50 general admission seat at a game against the Angels on July 11.
