Underwriter Posts 28% Rise in Profits

Fidelity National Financial Inc., the Irvine title insurance underwriter, posted a 28% increase in net income for the fiscal 1990 second quarter ended April 30, to $1 million from $782,000 for the quarter a year ago.
Revenue for the period rose 18% to $42.3 million from $35.8 million.
Net income for the first half was $1.8 million, double the $892,000 reported for the first six months of fiscal 1989.
Revenue was up 23% for the half, to $87.1 million from $71.1 million.
