GAF to Close Glass Fiber Plant in Irwindale: GAF Building Materials Corp. will close its Irwindale glass fiber manufacturing plant Sept. 4, laying off 99 employees. The move will allow the company, based in Wayne, N.J., to consolidate glass fiber production at a plant in Nashville, Tenn. The Irwindale’s plant’s annual payroll is $2.8 million.
