Gaston Faces Taylor at Forum Tonight

Unbeaten Mario Gaston of Argentina and Quincy Taylor of Dallas will meet in a 12-round bout at the Forum tonight. They’re fighting for the super-welterweight title of the Forum’s boxing tournament and the $75,000 purse that goes with it.
Gaston is 23-0 overall and 2-0 in the tournament. He started with a decision over Rollin Williams in March, then knocked out Elio Diaz in April. Taylor (13-1) decisioned Gilbert Baptist and Tomas Perez.
Super-flyweights Louie Espinoza (34-4-1) and Enrique Sanchez (49-11-1) will meet in a 10-rounder. The first bout is at 7.
