The Pacific Symphony has balanced its budget of $4,867,650 for the past season, orchestra officials announced Thursday. The Pacific raised $1,317,000 for its sustaining fund, 30% more than through fund-raising efforts last year. Ticket sales provided $2,529,000, an amount 5% above the record set last year for ticket sale income.
(Monies from contracted services, such as playing for visiting ballet companies, provided the remainder.)
By balancing the budget, the Pacific also will become eligible for a $100,000 grant from the James Irvine Foundation, contingent upon the foundation’s receiving an independent audit of the orchestra’s budget, which officials expect to be completed late summer.
