NEW YORK — A couple having their wedding dinner shared a second important event. They were arrested together after a customer at the restaurant recognized the man.
Jerry Conner and Sheila Maria Boyd told police that they had been married 15 minutes before their arrest on robbery charges Thursday.
Boyd, 23, and Conner, 27, are accused of robbing 13 patients and five employees in a doctor’s office last month, police spokesman Sgt. Edward Burns said. The victims lost $890 in cash and $7,000 in jewelry, he said.
One of the victims went to Cobblestone’s Restaurant with a friend Thursday and thought she recognized Conner as the man who had held a gun to her head during the robbery. She called police, who arrested the couple.
They were charged on 18 counts of robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, Burns said.
