SAN CLEMENTE — Police arrested three young men early Friday in the beating and robbery of a San Clemente man.
Darren Shane Viernes, 20, of Laguna Niguel, Gary Loring Saling, 19, of San Clemente and an unidentified 17-year-old were arrested just after midnight on suspicion of beating a man about 11 p.m. Thursday at the San Clemente Pier, Lt. Steve Bernardi said. A fourth suspect is being sought.
One of the suspects “made a comment about Orange County Skins,” a white-supremacist skinhead group known for violent behavior, Bernardi said.
Two of the suspects have short haircuts, and one does not, Bernardi said.
Four young men beat and stole $15 from Juan Dominguez, thought to be in his late 20s, Bernardi said, leaving Dominguez with several cuts to his face and head and a broken nose.
About five minutes later, police were called to a nearby 7-Eleven store, where a transient had been beaten by four men, Bernardi said. The victim in that assault declined to press charges and refused medical treatment.
