SOUTHERN SECTION ROUNDUP : NONLEAGUE

St. Francis 14, Saugus 12--Junior Pat Laurence scored on a five-yard run in the third quarter to give St. Francis a 14-6 lead at College of the Canyons.

Junior David Doyle scored both Saugus touchdowns on one-yard runs and finished with 42 yards in nine carries. He scored with three minutes to play but a two-point conversion attempt failed.

St. Francis running back Doug Fremdling (seven carries for 55 yards) opened the scoring with 2:38 left in the second quarter with a two-yard run to give the Golden Knights a 7-6 halftime lead.
