KITTY LITTER

On reading your review of Kitty Dukakis’ “Now You Know” (Sept. 23), I note that (reviewer) Felicia Kornbluh writes: “Her mother was the product of an illicit tenement union between two teen-agers, one Irish and one Jewish.”
Am I to infer that the Irish person was an atheist (as no religion was specified) and that the Jewish person was an American or, perhaps, a citizen of another country?
