FBI Raids Canoga Park Adult Videos Firm

Federal agents raided a Canoga Park company that produces pornographic videos as part of an investigation into the transportation of obscene material across state lines, sources said.
FBI spokesman Fred Reagan said Wednesday that agents served several search warrants, but he would not confirm or deny that any of the raids took place at Video Exclusives, one of the largest distributors of pornographic videotapes in the country.
Reagan refused to answer any questions regarding the incident, saying the affidavits requesting the search warrants were sealed.
But Tuesday’s raid coincided with a similar operation by agents in Indiana at another pornography operation, Multimedia Distributing Co. in Merrillville, Ind. Both Multimedia Distributing and Video Exclusives are owned by Mark Carriere of Schererville, Ind., and Los Angeles.
Sources said the FBI was investigating both companies. Employees at Video Exclusives refused to comment on the raids.
Last year, the Internal Revenue Service seized $500,000 and thousands of documents from Multimedia, which sued to get them back.
