Gunman Fires Shots in Apartment Building

Police cordoned off an area in Granada Hills late Thursday after a gunman fired shots in an apartment and was believed to have barricaded himself in the building.
The incident occurred in the 16800 block of Chatsworth Street at 8:45 p.m., said Sgt. Ted De Maegt.
There were no known injuries and officers did not know if anybody else was in the building. Police were trying to talk the gunman into putting down his weapon.
The cause of the shooting was not immediately known.
A SWAT team was sent to the location.
