A 62-year-old Tierrasanta woman died Saturday afternoon in a fire that started when a cigarette was thrown into a bathroom wastebasket.
The dead woman was found by San Diego firefighters in the bedroom of the home in the 10900 block of Valldemosa Lane.
Identity of the victim was not released Saturday night by the county Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Fire Department had no estimate of the damage.
