Apple Growers File Suit Over Alar Scare: As expected, the growers filed a multimillion-dollar lawsuit against “60 Minutes” and Natural Resources Defense Council, a Washington-based consumer group, seeking compensation for sagging sales during a scare over the growth chemical Alar.
