San Dimas : Hunting by Arrow Limited

Ignoring a plea by bow-and-arrow hunters to delay a decision, the City Council has banned shooting arrows from bows or slingshots.
Some San Dimas Canyon residents had accused bow hunters of trespassing on private property while tracking deer near Angeles National Forest.
The council voted 4 to 1 Tuesday to adopt the ordinance, effective immediately, with Councilman Sandy McHenry voting no. It allows people to shoot bows and arrows only on their own property or at certified archery ranges. Violators will be fined up to $500 or serve up to six months in jail, said City Atty. J. Kenneth Brown.
Joe Dotterer, president of the California Bowman Hunters and State Archery Assn., said the group will seek legal action.
