The city’s recycling program gets under way today with ceremonies featuring balloons, refreshments and information about the program.
City officials will open the event at 9:45 a.m. in Flamenco Park, at Melinda Road between Tobarra and Anaya. Dewey’s Rubbish Service is contractor for the program.
“We want recycling to become a community commitment,” said Damian Hopp, assistant city manager. “We want that commitment to be our ‘Mission Recycle.’ ”
