Indiana University basketball Coach Bob Knight’s complaints that starting Big Ten games at 9:30 p.m. to accommodate television can force players to miss classes the next day has led to a state legislative proposal for a curfew for college sporting events.
If the proposal becomes law, nontournament games involving state-supported schools could not start after 8:10 p.m.
