Three More Airlines Cut Fares to Europe: American Airlines, Northwest Airlines and Trans World Airlines said they would lower transcontinental and European fares by up to 60% to match a move by Pan American World Airways. The fares are good for travel between April 6 and May 20; other restrictions vary by airline. As an example, the round-trip fare between Los Angeles and New York would fall to $279 from $428. The fare between Los Angeles and Paris would fall to $418 from $734.
