SOUTHERN SECTION BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS : Peek Scores 35 as Hart Beats Buena, 95-73

Forward Ali Peek had a career-high 35 points on 14-of-18 shooting to lead Hart High boys’ basketball team to a 95-73 victory over Buena on Friday night in a first-round Southern Section 1-A Division game at Hart.
Forward Marty Downen added 21 points for Hart (19-6), which scored more than 20 points in each quarter.
Junior guard Lance Fay scored 21 points for Buena (14-12).
In another 1-A game:
Thousand Oaks 63, Dana Hills 57--Chris Loll, a 6-foot-5 1/2 senior forward, scored 22 points to move into first place on the Thousand Oaks single-season scoring list and into a tie for the career scoring lead.
Loll has 623 points, surpassing Steve Ornelaz’s record 617-point total from the 1976-77 season. Loll also has 1,000 career points to tie Ornelaz. Loll made seven of 15 from the field, sank eight of 11 free throws and grabbed nine rebounds.
Brian Capella, a 6-4 guard, had a key dunk in the fourth quarter for host Thousand Oaks (21-4). Capella finished with 12 points, and center Shane Graham added 10 points and nine rebounds.
DIVISION I-AA
Channel Islands 65, Keppel 55--Host Channel Islands survived 18 points and five three-point shots from Kevin Lam of Keppel (7-21).
Marlowe Durmiendo led Channel Islands (20-5) with 21 points and Stephane Brown added 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Palmdale 49, Leuzinger 41--Host Palmdale, which trailed by as many as 11 points in the third quarter, scored six unanswered points to break a 39-39 tie in the fourth quarter. Chris DeGlopper and Jason Grimes scored 17 and 15 points for Palmdale (16-9).
DIVISION II-AA
Agoura 85, Garey 80--Dennis Fowler scored 12 points in the fourth quarter as visiting Agoura pulled away after the score was tied, 62-62, after three quarters.
Sean Martin led Agoura (15-8) with 27 points. Eddie Corridori added 16, Fowler had 13, and Jeff Niemann and Jeff Feinman had 11.
Muir 76, Westlake 52--Muir (21-4) scored 55 second-half points to overcome a six-point halftime deficit. John Van Spyk led visiting Westlake (7-18) with 20 points.
DIVISION II-A
Rio Mesa 64, Buena Park 62--Manuk Kayaoglu sank a pair of free throws with five seconds left to lift visiting Rio Mesa (12-13).
Kayaoglu finished with a game-high 22 points and Swanson Nunnery added 15.
North Torrance 74, Burroughs 69--Despite the efforts of Mike Rossiter (19 points, 15 rebounds) and Rick Mulloy (17 points, 17 rebounds), Burroughs fell at North Torrance.
Jason Jassmann scored a game-high 24 points for North Torrance, and Sean Roberts added 18.
DIVISION III-AA
Alemany 95, Laguna Hills 88--Richard Dice had 21 points and 17 rebounds for visiting Alemany. Doug Tait added 18 points for the Indians (10-18) on six three-point baskets.
DIVISION III-A
Santa Margarita 83, Harvard 76 (OT)--Both teams had shots to win in the final 20 seconds of regulation play, but visiting Santa Margarita outscored Harvard, 13-6, in the overtime period. Marcus Puhvel scored 27 points and Andres Carlo had 22 points for Harvard (18-5).
DIVISION IV-AA
Santa Clara 74, La Salle 50--Isaiah Mustafa led host Santa Clara (22-4) with a game-high 16 points.
Stevie Amar added 13 points and Art Barron had 10 for Santa Clara, a two-time defending state champion.
DIVISION IV-A
Serra 68, L.A. Baptist 53--Alex Pistone scored 12 points as the host Knights (12-12) fell to Serra (6-16). Glenn Dodson and Dan Shackelford added 10 points each for L.A. Baptist.
DIVISION V-AA
Campbell Hall 92, Southwestern Academy 53--Host Campbell Hall limited Mike Fisher, the Southern Section scoring leader with a 45-point average, to four points in the first half and built a 36-20 lead. Campbell Hall’s Austin McKellar had 19 points and eight assists and Alex Lopez added 18 points.
Montclair Prep 98, Trona 56--Eddie Cibrian scored a game-high 22 points and teammate J. T. Billingslea added 20 for the host Mounties (19-4).
Camp Kilpatrick 57, St. Margaret’s 63--Marlon Randolph made two free throws with 18 seconds left to preserve the victory for visiting Camp Kilpatrick (19-6).
Bishop Diego 66, Faith Baptist 61--Peter Rasmussen had 22 points and 10 rebounds and Darren Wyre added 18 points for Faith Baptist (13-11).
Providence 69, Rosamond 66--Sophomore Barry Dabbaghian scored 12 of his 18 points in the third quarter and grabbed 13 rebounds and Brett Ferrante added 18 to lead Providence (15-11).
Holy Martyrs 69, Leffingwell Christian 56--Armand Dorian and Apik Minassian each scored 18 points for Holy Martyrs (14-7).
DIVISION V-A
Highland Hall 74, Immanuel Christian 45--John Klejnot had 10 points, 26 rebounds, 16 blocked shots and seven assists for visiting Highland Hall (12-8).
