Writing to Protest the Call-In Letters

Your invitation for call-in letters makes me angry.
When one sends or faxes a letter to you, he or she has thought about the subject, formalized the presentation, and after consideration, submitted it for publication.
When all an annoyed reader needs do is make a telephone call and spout off at the mouth, you will accomplish aught but the need to sift through thousands of thoughtless babbling messages in hopes of a very few nuggets.
And I notice that the call-in letters are not acceptable for the editorial page.
Are we who live in the Valley and its surrounds deemed less literate?
In fact, is not the entire idea a concession to illiteracy?
