Victor H. Schlesinger was elected chairman of the board of trustees of Mortgage & Realty Trust, a real estate investment trust with executive offices in Burbank and Elkins Park, Pa.
Schlesinger, who succeeded the retiring Edward L. Stanley, had been the trust’s vice chairman since 1979 and was its president from 1970 to 1979.
Mortgage & Realty Trust has been reorganizing under federal bankruptcy laws since April 12, when it was unable to make $105 million in debt payments.
