Traffic Prohibited at Spain’s Alhambra

GRANADA, Spain — Cars have been banned from the Alhambra, Spain’s biggest tourist attraction, to keep out exhaust fumes that have damaged the Moorish fortress-palace’s stone walls.
Vehicles had been allowed to drive up to the side of the 14th-Century Arab palace. Now, they will get no closer than a large parking lot at the edge of the fortress.
