OXNARD : 4-Day Visit Planned for State’s Tall Ship
- Share via
Sailing buffs can take a rare, close-up look at a 19th-Century-style tall ship beginning today when the state’s official ship pulls into Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard.
During its four-day stay, the Californian, a 93-foot cutter, will host a day cruise, free tours and educational events for the public. The Californian, a replica of a federal Revenue Service cutter launched in 1849, is scheduled to arrive between 3 and 5 p.m. Thursday.
The public can tour the vessel at no charge from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
Anyone can sign up for a four-hour sail and lunch aboard the Californian for Saturday or Sunday at a price of $75 per person.
For reservations call 985-2511.
