Alan Gautier of France crossed the finish line in his yacht, Generali Concorde, hours ahead of two rivals and days ahead of 15 others in the third leg of the BOC Challenge Around-the-World race.
His official time to Punta del Este, Uruguay, from Sydney, Australia, was 31 days 3 hours 21 minutes 14 seconds for 7,200 miles.
