Man Accused of Killing Co-Worker

A Fillmore man has been arrested on suspicion of killing a co-worker and leaving the man’s body in the trunk of his car last month, Ventura County sheriff’s officials said Thursday.
Mario Garcia, 19, was arrested in the death of Ramiro Costilla of Camarillo, Lt. Gary Markley said. The arrest was made Wednesday in Livingston in Merced County, where Garcia was staying with relatives.
Garcia and Costilla were co-workers at a Somis nursery.
Costilla’s body was discovered after residents of King Street in Fillmore noticed a foul smell coming from the trunk of Costilla’s car and notified authorities. Costilla had been stabbed numerous times.
Garcia will be transferred from Merced County Jail to Ventura County.
