Players Who Tear Up the League, Then Want to Tear Up Contracts
- Share via
As we emerge from another winter, the sounds that trumpet the coming of spring can once again be heard. The cry of “Play ball!” the crack of the bat, and the unmistakable sound of signed contracts being ripped to shreds.
This annual trampling of word and promise by egocentric renegotiators raises an interesting irony. Why is it that the autographs of these overpaid children are without value on legal documents, yet these same people ask our children to spend their allowances for the same signatures?
I don’t care how much money ballplayers make: I’d still think twice about accepting a personal check from some of them.
