Adolfo Cruz Reta, Bell’s community development director for almost two years, is resigning to become planning director in Monterey Park.
Reta will depart Monday and begin working the next day for Monterey Park, where he will oversee the urban planning and design, building and safety, and property maintenance departments. He will receive an annual salary of $68,064.
Bell City Administrator John Bramble credited Reta with helping Bell develop contract services for housing rehabilitation and building services work, and a code enforcement program, among other things. “He did some good work for us,” Bramble said.
Reta holds a law degree from Western State University College of Law in Fullerton. Before he was hired by Bell, he was community development director of Cudahy for two years.
