EVER UPWARD: Add another $75,219 to the $25-million cost of the parking garages at the new John Wayne Airport. Soon after the new terminal and garages opened last year, leaking roofs damaged the paint on some cars, and 15 motorists filed claims. . . . County officials played down the problem at the time, saying the normal “settling” of new buildings would cure things. But now the airport staff is asking the county for $75,219 to fix what it calls a “design deficiency” in one garage.
