Iraq’s Kurds and U.S. Homeless

Hats off to Conrad for his eye-opening cartoon “America’s ‘Kurds’ ” (April 26), depicting the plight of the thousands of homeless people in our “rich” country.
The tragedy of the Kurdish people is definitely something that should be given more than sympathy. The U.S. government’s response to their plight in providing aid is very commendable. The irony is that there are thousands of people in this country who are suffering the same plight as the Kurds and nothing in the way of government assistance is being done for them. Let us rise to the occasion and help our own suffering homeless citizens.
