BIONIC BILL: William Woollett Jr., chief of the Orange County tollway agency, has always been a tough cookie. But the former paratrooper outdid himself recently when he got a pacemaker. . . . On operation day, Woollett showed up for work before hitting the hospital. He was back on the job the next Monday, less than 72 hours after surgery. . . . In a note to his bosses, the 60ish Woollett said: “If I can do half the things the instruction booklet claims I can, I will be quite busy for the next 60 years.”
