Nadadores’ Zubrin Wins Diving Title

Mission Viejo Nadadores diver Sandy Zubrin won the girls’ 14-15 platform diving title Thursday at the Speedo/U.S. Diving Junior Olympic Championships in Clayton, Mo.
Zubrin, of Newport Beach, scored 327.90 points to win by 26 points. Six Nadadores divers competed Thursday in the national event, which ends Sunday. Amy Sloan of Lake Forest was fourth behind Zubrin with 278.70 points and Mission Viejo’s Summer Brown was 11th with 232.75 points.
In the boys’ 14-15 one-meter platform competition, El Toro’s Tyce Routsen finished third with 361.9 points. Laguna Hills’ Jeff Nichols was 13th.
Mission Viejo’s Joy Burkholder finished 14th in the girls’ 16-18 three-meter springboard competition.
