Leo’s Stereo, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Wednesday, is closing 13 of its stores, says an attorney for the company. Of 23 stores in the chain, “it is expected that approximately 10 stores will remain open in the immediate future,” said Eric Schunk, a lawyer representing the firm. He said he did not know which stores had already closed, but the Hawthorne and Hollywood stores did not answer phone calls Friday, while a manager at the Torrance store said it remained open for business.
Company officials could not be reached for comment. An operator who answered the phone at Long Beach headquarters said only she and a security guard were present at the company today.
