Our 12-year-old sports nut just “graduated” from Magic Johnson’s camp in Thousand Oaks. He learned how to play basketball better, and a whole lot more.
He learned that an athlete can be a superstar and also be honest and caring. He saw no ego trip, only a guy committed to our community’s youth, doing what he does best. Our son got to know Magic Johnson, the athlete, the father, the future Hall of Famer who is every bit as genuine as his huge smile suggests. “I went one-on-one with Magic,” our son said. “In basketball?” we replied. “No, in talking!”
