SAN JOSE — A man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly molesting two girls at a day care center in a scheme that involved posing as a doctor, police said.
Howard Cotterman, 50, of Los Gatos was booked on suspicion of two counts of child molestation, said Sgt. Mike Boggess.
The arrest came after several hours of questioning.
Officers said Cotterman identified himself as a doctor doing a county study on sexual abuse. In addition to molesting the children, the man took lewd photos of one of them, officers said.
Police spokeswoman Veronica Damon said the man used the ploy at at least 12 day care centers.
