Cal State Fullerton Art Gallery Director Resigns

FULLERTON — Dextra Frankel, director of the Cal State Fullerton art gallery for 24 years, has resigned to work full time on her design business in Los Angeles. Daniel Sterns, 37, has been named acting director.

Sterns, a graduate of Cal State Fullerton, with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in arts and design, began his new job earlier this month.

The owner of Daniel Sterns Design in Temple City since 1978, he also has been director of the Jan Baum Gallery in Los Angeles (from 1987 to 1990) and director of the Roy Boyd Gallery in Santa Monica (1981-83).
