Fans Get Irish Up About USC
Your readers were subjected to literally pages of Notre Dame eulogistics in your pregame “reporting,” which included a picture of a controversial USC touchdown in a game many years ago. So where are the pictures of Notre Dame’s game-winning non-touchdown fumble? Replay absolutely confirmed a touchback and a blown call by Father Official. You scarcely mentioned this play in your “reporting.”
Notre Dame is a terrific team and neither needs nor wants these officiating breaks so routinely given, though it does make their home record understandable.
The Times should recruit Father Official. He, together with Fathers Murray, Dwyre and Crowe, would make an All-American slanted journalism team.
