For the Public, Rancho Simply Isn’t Up to Par
- Share via
The problems at Rancho Park Golf Course (Oct. 25) begin with plain old municipal bureaucratic incompetence.
Permanent greens have been rebuilt in recent years and they’re still terrible. The greens at nearby privately operated Westchester Golf Course (otherwise a goat track) are exceptional. Hire their greenskeeper.
The mind-set of the Rancho managers tells it all. For a three-day tournament, they restrict public use of the course for months. We get “pride and prestige” and the locker room recarpeted.
Get rid of the tournaments and maintain the course for those of us who pay for it all year.
