Regarding your front-page story of Nov. 4, “Crowds Cheer 4,000 in First Orange County Marathon.”
Please stand corrected that the first Orange County Marathon was held Dec. 15, 1985, and was sponsored by the Board of Supervisors and the Irvine Co.
I know because I and several other county employees, as well as hundreds of other runners, participated in the First Inaugural Orange County Marathon.
