MUM POLITICS: Former Beirut hostage David Jacobsen of Huntington Beach repeats the same message he gave the media from the White House lawn five years ago: “Keep quiet!” . . . Jacobsen, who was on ABC’s “Nightline” this week, tied Terry Waite’s captivity to media speculation that Waite had CIA connections. Jacobsen says media competition for “scoops” has delayed other hostage releases. “We’re so close now,” Jacobsen says, “Let the speculation wait until the rest are released.”
