The New York Yankees waived pitcher Eric Plunk and catcher Bob Geren and promoted two prospects to the major league roster, catcher Brad Ausmus and pitcher Mike Gardella.
Plunk was 2-5 with a 4.76 earned-run average last season. Geren batted .219 with two home runs and 12 RBIs in 1991.
